Target
FUNCTION: Selectively promotes the survival of dopaminergic neurons of the ventral mid-brain. Modulates GABAergic transmission to the dopaminergic neurons of the substantia nigra. Enhances spontaneous, as well as evoked, GABAergic inhibitory postsynaptic currents in dopaminergic neurons
. Inhibits cell proliferation and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-induced cell death.
Tissue specificity: Strongly expressed in pancreatic islets and spermatocytes (at protein level).
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted.
Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
