Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from aa region 2-40 of human DNAL1 conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the antigen.
Accession
Also known
Axonemal Dynein light chain 1
Target
FUNCTION: Interacts with DNAH5.
Tissue specificity: Expressed in tissues carrying motile cilia such as testis.
Involvement in disease: Primary ciliary dyskinesia 16 (CILD16): A disorder characterized by abnormalities of motile cilia. Respiratory infections leading to chronic inflammation and bronchiectasis are recurrent, due to defects in the respiratory cilia; reduced fertility is often observed in male patients due to abnormalities of sperm tails. Half of the patients exhibit randomization of left-right body asymmetry and situs inversus, due to dysfunction of monocilia at the embryonic node. Primary ciliary dyskinesia associated with situs inversus is referred to as Kartagener syndrome.
Note: The disease is caused by mutations affecting the gene represented in this entry.
Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Expiry Date
12 months after reconstitution
Shipping
This item will be shipped to you at ambient temperature in a lyophilised form.
