Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from aa region of 800-850 of human SLC24A1 conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the antigen.
Accession
Also known
Sodium/potassium/calcium exchanger 1, Na(+)/K(+)/Ca(2+)-exchange protein 1, Retinal rod Na-Ca+K exchanger, Nckx1
Target
FUNCTION: Critical component of the visual transduction cascade, controlling the calcium concentration of outer segments during light and darkness. Light causes a rapid lowering of cytosolic free calcium in the outer segment of both retinal rod and cone photoreceptors and the light-induced lowering of calcium is caused by extrusion via this protein which plays a key role in the process of light adaptation. Transports 1 Ca2+ and 1 K+ in exchange for 4 Na+.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Tissue specificity: Highly expressed in the eye.
Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Expiry Date
12 months after reconstitution
Shipping
This item will be shipped to you at ambient temperature in a lyophilised form.
