Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from aa region 300-400 of human GABA(A) receptor subunit beta-3 conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the antigen.
Accession
Also known
Gamma-aminobutyric acid receptor subunit beta-3, GABRB3
Target
FUNCTION: GABA, the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the vertebrate brain, mediates neuronal inhibition by binding to the GABA/benzodiazepine receptor and opening an integral chloride channel.
Defects in GABRB3 are associated with chronic insomnia, a condition of inability to initiate or maintain sleep. This may occur as a primary disorder or in association with another medical or psychiatric condition.
Defects in GABRB3 are the cause of childhood absence epilepsy type 5 (ECA5).
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell junction ⺠synapse ⺠postsynaptic cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane
Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Expiry Date
12 months after reconstitution
Shipping
This item will be shipped to you at ambient temperature in a lyophilised form.
