Target
FUNCTION: GABA, the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the vertebrate brain, mediates neuronal inhibition by binding to the GABA/benzodiazepine receptor and opening an integral chloride channel.
Defects in GABRG2 are the cause of childhood absence epilepsy type 2 (ECA2). Defects in GABRG2 are the cause of generalized epilepsy with febrile seizures plus type 3 (GEFS+3). Defects in GABRG2 are a cause of severe myoclonic epilepsy in infancy (SMEI).

Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
