Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from aa region 700-740 of human Mitofusin 1 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in rat and mouse.
Accession
Also known
Transmembrane GTPase MFN1, MFN1
Target
FUNCTION: Essential transmembrane GTPase, which mediates mitochondrial fusion. Fusion of mitochondria occurs in many cell types and constitutes an important step in mitochondria morphology, which is balanced between fusion and fission. MFN1 acts independently of the cytoskeleton. Overexpression induces the formation of mitochondrial networks.
MFN1 deficient mice die early during embryonic development, due to altered mitochondria morphology, which are fragmented, showing that mitochondrial fusion is essential for embryonic development.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Mitochondrion outer membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein
Tissue specificity: Widely expressed
Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Expiry Date
12 months after reconstitution
Shipping
This item will be shipped to you at ambient temperature in a lyophilised form.
