Immunogen

A synthetic peptide from aa region 300-350 of human SFTPD conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide shares 95% identity with mouse and rat sequences.

Target

FUNCTION: Contributes to the lung's defense against inhaled microorganisms. May participate in the extracellular reorganization or turnover of pulmonary surfactant. Binds strongly maltose residues and to a lesser extent other alpha-glucosyl moieties.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted âº extracellular space âº extracellular matrix. Secreted âº extracellular space âº surface film.

Storage

Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
