Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from extracellular domain of human Contactin associated protein like 2 (CNTNAP2) conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen.
Accession
Also known
CNTP2, Cell recognition molecule Caspr2, CNTNAP2, CASPR2
Target
FUNCTION: May play a role in the formation of functional distinct domains critical for saltatory conduction of nerve impulses in myelinated nerve fibers. Seems to demarcate the juxtaparanodal region of the axo-glial junction.
Defects in CNTNAP2 are the cause of cortical dysplasia-focal epilepsy syndrome (CDFES). Affected individuals manifest cortical dysplasia, focal epilepsy, relative macrocephaly, and diminished deep-tendon reflexes. Intractable focal seizures begin in early childhood, after which language regression, hyperactivity, impulsive and aggressive behavior, and mental retardation develop.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein
Tissue specificity: Predominantly expressed in nervous system.
Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Expiry Date
12 months after reconstitution
Shipping
This item will be shipped to you at ambient temperature in a lyophilised form.
