Target

FUNCTION: Receptor for glutamate. L-glutamate acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter at many synapses in the central nervous system. The postsynaptic actions of Glu are mediated by a variety of receptors that are named according to their selective agonists.
Subcellular location: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Cell junction âº synapse âº postsynaptic cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
Tissue specificity: Equally in forebrain and cerebellum. Highest in the pyramidal and dentate granule cell layers of the hippocampus, low in adult brain, much higher in younger animals.

Storage

Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
