Target
FUNCTION: May act as a regulator of synaptic vesicle exocytosis by controlling the availability of SNAP25 for the SNARE complex formation.
Tissue specificity: Its expression is mainly confined to the central nervous system. The developing neocortex, the dorsal thalamus, the midbrain, the basal area of the hindbrain and spinal cord show high level of expression during embryogenesis. In adult brain, it is detected in the Purkinje cells of the cerebellum, in the hippocampus, and in the cortex.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasmic vesicle ⺠secretory vesicle ⺠synaptic vesicle. Cell junction ⺠synapse. Cytoplasm ⺠cytoskeleton. Note: Enriched at synaptic terminals where it exists in a soluble form and a synaptic vesicle-associated form. Associated with the cytoskeleton.

Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
