Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from c-terminal region of mouse SLC1A3 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in rat.
Accession
Also known
Sodium-dependent glutamate/aspartate transporter 1, GLAST-1, Solute carrier family 1 member 3, SLC1A3, EAAT1, GLAST, GLAST1
Target
FUNCTION: Transports L-glutamate and also L- and D-aspartate. Essential for terminating the postsynaptic action of glutamate by rapidly removing released glutamate from the synaptic cleft. Acts as a symport by cotransporting sodium. Defects in SLC1A3 are the cause of episodic ataxia type 6 (EA6). EA6 is characterized by episodic ataxia, seizures, migraine and alternating hemiplegia.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Highly expressed in cerebellum, but also found in frontal cortex, hippocampus and basal ganglia.
Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Expiry Date
12 months after reconstitution
Shipping
This item will be shipped to you at ambient temperature in a lyophilised form.
