Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from human mature BDNF conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in many other species including rat, mouse, zebra fish and xenopus.
Accession
Also known
Brain-derived neurotrophic factor, BDNF, Abrineurin
Target
FUNCTION: Promotes the survival of neuronal populations that are all located either in the central nervous system or directly connected to it. Major regulator of synaptic transmission and plasticity at adult synapses in many regions of the CNS. The versatility of BDNF is emphasized by its contribution to a range of adaptive neuronal responses including long-term potentiation (LTP), long-term depression (LTD), certain forms of short-term synaptic plasticity, as well as homeostatic regulation of intrinsic neuronal excitability.
SUBUNIT: Monomers and homodimers. Binds to NTRK2/TRKB.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted.
Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Expiry Date
12 months after reconstitution
Shipping
This item will be shipped to you at ambient temperature in a lyophilised form.
